Short Week

Not much going on in my world lately. I suppose I could start with the whirlwind of shows we’ll be playing with minimal breaks. We play this weekend (The Press-Cookie’s fav. bar) and Black Dawg (my fav – because it’s close to home!). We’re doing the inside part of the weekend tent party on Saturday (6/2). Hairball is outside – those guys put on a great show. The next weekend if off (4th of July break) – I think we’re going camping w/ Michael and Cristi (and kids). Then we’re solid until August 10th. That includes to 3-dayers in a row (a Thu, F, Sat and a F, Sat, Sun). I hope work is slow during that time! I figure we’re going to play another 50 shows before the end of the year.
We just learned up “Monkey Wrench” from the Foo Fighters – super easy. It’s becoming harder to come up with new songs to learn. Nothing has really been grabbing me. Maybe some old Smashing Pumpkins would be cool. I loved the mid-to late-90’s stuff. Weezer, STP, Pearl Jam, Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, etc. We need to lay off the “fluffy” easy stuff.
What else. Beth is getting along pretty well, she has had a couple of tough mornings, but other than that all seems well. I think our next appt. is on June 4th. The baby is around 2.5 inches and has all parts! Wow. Just thinking about it is amazing. We should probably buy some diapers every time we hit up target or cub… Make it a little easier when the time comes!
The doors for the house have been purchased, Brett needs to paint them yet, then install. The hallway should be painted. Hopefully after Bobby departs for his new home (which we have found… what rigmaroles I’ve started in regards to that… I have my Bro-in-law Scott pretty pissed off at us. I feel terrible. – possible add’l post…). Then we can have the nursery finished off and start buying for the baby. Good gravy!
Work continues on. Still a little slow, but I hope that changes here soon. I’ve been assigned two more clients including a new client launch in July – only 2 exams, but the whole process is still in place. One of my other clients is finally getting into the groove of sending exams.
That’s all for now. I’m not sure who all reads this, but it’ll probably be a good journal later on!
