Adventure Weekend… “productive”

Not sure where to start. Let’s go with Friday. Flash’s birthday, we hit up Kahn’s BBQ in Bloomington, awesome as usual… My dumb ass decided to eat a jalapeno right off the bat… well, these aren’t exaclty the ‘watered down’ variety you get with nachos. Mouth was ON FIRE for about 10 minutes, completely ruining my second go-round at the place. Got a little hell for that. Teary-eyed, red faced, brother-in-law laughing at me… Good times! Then we went bowling at Louisville Lanes (Shakopee/Chaska). Haven’t done that for some time… I bowled pretty well, Beth too! Tipped a few back, went home!
Saturday was a late start, but alright. Went to Target in Shakopee, our first Target trip in a LONG time. B’ville Target is re-opening (turned into a Super Target) in October. So we stocked up on supplies, got a bunch of stuff we’ve lived without for a while, the necessities, etc. Then we hit up Applebee’s. Michael (Beths’ Bro) called, said he was at our house right after we ordered. He swung by to install the new garbage disposal we bought about a month ago. The old one was only about 3 years old. The drain pipe from the 2nd part of the sink wasn’t tilted correctly, so everything drained back into the disposal, causing it to rust and eventually fail. The new one is so quiet, I can’t even believe it! He brought Jr. with and hung out for the rest of the day until I left for my gig in Buffalo. Talked about Boundry Waters and what not and what I should bring, etc. Only 16 days until that adventure starts!
Buffalo. We do very well there. I guess the last band that played there had a whole 4 people in the joint. It was pretty much packed for us. We did stop early due to the “roadhouse” style fight in the back of the bar (after another one right in front of the stage). We only had about 3 songs to go, but that was fine with me. The sound guy really liked his smoke machine, which is fine, but I feel like hell after nights like that. All in all, not a bad night!
Sunday I put together the new bathroom wall dealy-majobber (NOT a vanity), still need to hang it. Then we got an organizer for the office. Much needed on both ends. I’ll slap some pics up of the Bathroom when it’s hung. Then we went to Laura’s dance recital. Pretty cute all around. Good show. Then we went to some crappy restaraunt in New Prague. The service was bad, the food was borderline, if they had any left (out of: French Dip, cookies for the kids, ice cream, and apparently any pop – only half of us got a refill). Beth and I stopped at DQ afterwards to fulfill our sweet tooth needs.
Nice relaxing evening of TV and laundry! Both shows were pretty good (DH and Bro’s and Sis’s).
