What a mess we have from a certain resident at the Wurtzberger house. Everywhere that dog has taken a piss is a dead spot of grass. Apparently before seeding you’re supposed to get rid of all of the dead stuff. Opps!
Well, I guess it’ll just be good that there is some extra dirt and seed in there, green it up. Maybe I’ll spread some gypsum on it or lime – supposed to help out!
Trimmed back the raspberries on the east side of the house, buried the cable for the, uh, cable, few other odds/ends yard wise. Always more to do! The trimmer ran out of cord already… I wonder what that runs @ Depot.
Off to Andover and a night of Rhino again! Kurt made a new set list, doesn’t look too much different.
Beth went shopping today… poor girl had no clothes. Hopefully her wardrobe has a few new every-day additions and more.
I love her so much!

I won this kinda by accident on ebay. It’s a Transformer. Yep. The toys from the 80’s. I still love them. I’m 31. Almost 32. With a child on the way. I guess Beth already knows that I won it. $3.99 – retails at $9.99, so after shipping, it was $10.98. But it is also not in stores anymore.
Grow up? I play in a cover band! I’m male! Read the rest of this entry »

Ahhhh. One coat has been applied… we’ll see how it turns out. With Beth’s pregnancy, she’s not supposed to be around fumes of paint so I have the duty of painting. Which is fine. If only she’d leave me alone… |

It looks pretty good, I’m sure it’ll need a second coat. I love to paint. Not. I just hope there aren’t too many big drips or anything. New light fixtures will be going up when the probably 2nd coat dries. We also have a new towel holder and robe hook. We’ll be looking for a new vanity as well. Still going to look for new hinges… it looks odd with brass and new shiney metal handles… |

The walls are primed, the new fixtures are ready, paint is ready. Now I just need to do it. We were looking for silver hinges that work the same way as our current ones do, but they don’t seem to make such a thing anymore. Strange, they don’t seem outlandish and any way… I should really add some pics to the progress here. They have this think called a camera, and in this day and age, you can even take pictures, download them to your Read the rest of this entry »

It’s bad enough to have a cold. it’s ten times worse when it’s nice out. Snorting and hacking all day long. Can’t make it easy on myself, can I? Now add playing to gigs on the weekend, smoke-filled bars, etc. No wonder I felt like hell. And could barely talk. I hope I don’t get Beth sick!

From ESPN/AP:
NEW YORK — Metal bats will be banned in high school baseball starting this September in the nation’s largest school system after the City Council on Monday overrode a mayoral veto of the bill.
The measure outlaws metal bats under the theory that they produce harder and faster hits, risking injury to young players who have less time to react. Opponents, who include Little League Baseball and sporting goods makers, say there is no evidence metal bats are more dangerous. Read the rest of this entry »

Here we are, 6 weeks along. Beth’s having a hard time not worrying about the pregnancy. When she feels good, she worries, when she feels poorly, she worries. I guess I can’t blamer her. I’m not in her shoes. No thanks! She’ll be my champion! She has been smoke free now for almost a week (after cutting down drastically, so no finger pointing!). It’s too bad she doesn’t like the smell of Chinese food. I’m really in the mood for some!
I’m liking the changes already too… it’s like a preview of what some “enhancements” may bring… ;)
The old office is getting a makeover. “Old office.” We’ve only been in the house for a little over a year! The paneling is gone, the walls were taped and mudded, a light yellow paint job and some cool white crown molding applied. The ceiling had some “gaps” in it and to fix it would have been a pain. Unfortunately, the ceiling is either A) Very Dirty or B) Darkened. Either way, that needs to be repainted as well. We’re going to replace the trim in the hallway as well, and probably have the “dressing” room redone as well. The gray is just a little too much for now. Gray walls with dark gray trim and crappy doors. ick. Plus that awful black cork wall. (Side note – love the spell checker in Firefox!). In the meantime, the bathroom is also getting a new paint job. After heading to the dentist tonight, i’ll be patching holes, removing ugly fixtures, and getting the priming started. I’m hoping wifey-poo will find some nice new stuff, including lights. It’s pretty damn dark in there. At night. The skylight is plenty bright during the day, but after the sun goes down.
What else can I talk about today? Saturday brings some more chores/honey-do’s: Put on the first coat of real paint in the bathroom, and probably patching A LOT OF DOG DAMAGE IN THE YARD. I’ll post pictures… Poor Bobby – can’t do anything right!

Well, as it stands, there could very easily be 1 or 2 new additions to the Wurtzberger family by the time December rolls around!
Beth took a couple of pregnancy tests (after taking some Clomax (sp) during the prior month) and it has been a success! She’s tired and cranky and definitely pregnant! We found out last week and have an “estimated” date around Dec. 20th! Year of the Golden Pig yet! This drug is supposedly known for producing multiples as well. Beth is still in the process of completing her cessation – Sunday is the day! I’m proud of her (and, of course, requiring it of her).
Exciting isn’t really word I’d use. Scary. Life-changing. Ok, exciting it is! Plus I’m probably going to go back to school in the fall. Weekend college at Augsburg.
Beth and I met with the admissions councilor today. Large-bosomed, fast-talking, large-breath-taking, energetic… Got just enough information out of her. Then we went to Chipotle on 7 corners. Not as good as the B’ville one. Not as spicy… oh well.
