IE 7, Win2k Pro, XP Pro

Posted by Wurtzy on November 9, 2006

What the hell.

Microsoft rolls out Internet Explorer 7. I go to download it at work on my Win2k Pro machine. Guess again! Only works on XP SP2. Ok, fine. I have XP Pro discs for my work machines (for some reason, my boss bought 2 brand new Dell Precisions loaded with Win2K Pro. ??? Only 2 years ago! Anyway…). I’ll just upgrade Win2K Pro with the XP Pro disc. Wrong again! Can’t update! Now I have the joyful task of backing up all of my files (and my co-worker’s files because her machine needs to be updated as well), installing XP Pro (SP 1, I may add… download center, here I come.), re-installing ALL the FKN SOFTWARE. I bet I can’t renew Nort0n on this machine, plus I have to explain to another company that I’ll need two new activations for their software.

Oh well. Just more time that I love to friverously waste.

How ’bout a beer?
