My wife told me the funniest damn thing on Saturday. We were discussing the fact that her boss bought a new laser printer and how her office needs a new fax maching and a color copier. Then she started to giggle about her boss’s new printer. I asked her what was so funny.
This should go down in those “I can’t believe that happenned” tech calls (you know, like the “I broke my cupholder – actually your CD drive” calls). Apparently, his old 4 in 1 printer scanner copier fax had some dirty print heads. Most printers have a utitlity which cleans this out just by printing. Apparently he didn’t know about this feature. Beth watched him walk across the room with some wet pieces of paper – dripping wet – and asked him what he as doing. “Cleaning my printer.”
“OK!” Beth replied.
So he proceeded to run the wet piece of paper through the 4 in 1 machine and in the process ruined the machine. Jammed wet paper in it so tight he couldnt’ do a thing with it. The best part is, Beth just let him do it.
I must have laughed for about an hour. I don’t know if I could watch someone do that, but then again, if you have someone that technologically inept “cleaning” their printer, I suppose it would make for really good humor!
